Robert Bennett

Robert E. Bennett , age 89 of Loon Lake, WA (formerly of Montello and Wisconsin Dells) passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Loon Lake.  Bob was born in Garden City, Michigan to Albert and Lillian (Wilson) Bennett on August 20, 1928.  Bob married Nancy Frazier in Bowling Green, OH on July 7, 1950; she preceded Bob in death on July 12, 1988.

Bob enjoyed rebuilding classic cars and was very proud of the cars he and his sons worked together on.  He was an avid woodworker and thoroughly enjoyed fishing with his family.  Bob looked forward to the trips back to Michigan to visit family and friends. He enjoyed eating his wife’s food, especially her pies and other baked goods.  Bob will be remembered as hardworking and caring gentleman.

Bob is survived by four children: John Sloan of Lodi, Robert of Endeavor, Michael of Loon Lake, WA and Cynthia (LeRoy) Lippig of Montello.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Bonnie Sloan, Mindy Sloan, Paul Sloan, Shelly Lippig, Michael Lippig, Tina (James Small) Bennett, Tony Bennett, Jacob Flickner and Benjamin Robb as well as nine great-grandchildren.  Bob is further survived by sisters: Ellen “Nina” Lemond and Catherine “Mame” Swamba.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nancy, children: Edward Sloan, James Bennett and Catherine Bennett and grandson, Timothy Bennett.  He is also preceded in death by brothers: Elmer and Kenneth as well as sister, Dorothy (Clifford) “Dot” Huss.

A Celebration of Robert Bennett’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.  Bob’s granddaughter, Shelly Dillinger will lead the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial in Bob’s name that will go towards finding a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease.
