Robert Hungerford

Robert 'Bob' W. Hungerford, age 63 of Montello lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his family at his home early Sunday morning, March 24, 2013. He was born in Two Harbors, MN to William and Joan (McGregor) Hungerford on May 7, 1949. Bob valiantly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He moved to Wisconsin in 1973 and owned and operated Bob's Recycling for almost 40 years. Bob enjoyed the outdoors; especially hunting and fishing. He liked to spend time shooting pool and bowling. Bob loved his family very much and cherished the time he was able to spend with them, he will be greatly missed. Survivors include: his wife, Linda, mother, Joan of Two Harbors, MN, five children: William (Kim) of Junction City, KS, Thomas (Renee) Ford of Casper, WY, Christina Gauld of Beloit, Cheri Hungerford of Portage and Bobby Jo Hungerford of Beloit as well as five step children: Peggy (Rodney) Stanton of Columbus, Paul Olson of Montello, Dawn (Thomas) Weissmann of Columbus, Tim Olson of Beaver Dam and Pennie (Don) Christian of Beaver Dam. Bob is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and three siblings: James (Linda), Yvonne (Bert) Highland and Elaine Matson. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends. Bob is preceded in death by his father and the mothers of his children: Bonnie Matson and Barbara Newland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home and again on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Father David Carrano will preside and burial with full military honors will take place at Bonnet Prairie Cemetery in Rio, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. Crawford Funeral Home of Montello is honored to serve the family.
