Sandra Podbregar

Sandra “Sandy” Karen Podbregar, age 72 of Montello (Lake Puckaway) passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Sandy was born in Chicago on January 17, 1954 to George and Martha “Jane” (Deboe) Patton. She was raised in Carpentersville, IL and graduated from Irving Crown High School in 1972. Sandy was united in marriage to Carl Podbregar and enjoyed 44 years together until he passed in 2015.

Sandy was employed for many years at Marshall Fields and also a bus driver for special needs children. In retirement, she relocated to Lake Puckaway and was very proud of what she accomplished. Sandy loved to entertain and be around her friends and family. She looked forward to summer and spending time gardening, boating, camping and bowling. Sandy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and loving spirit.

Sandy is survived by her children: Carolyn (Tim) Rabel of Naperville, IL, Frank of Wautoma and Victoria (Tom Forbes) Podbregar of Lake In The Hills, IL as well as grandchildren: Karen (Daniel), Kyle and Melissa and great-granddaughter, Hattie. She is also survived by her siblings: Roy Patton, Tommy Patton and Ronda Patton and her boyfriend of many years, Bob Beck.

A Celebration of Sandy’s Life will be held at a later date.
