Sherry Hansen

Cheryl “Sherry” Ann Hansen, age 70 of Westfield (formerly of Turtle Lake, WI) passed away Monday, June 16, 2025 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Sherry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on June 30, 1954 to Marvin and Bertha (Sawacke) Hansen. She graduated from Mahtomedi High School outside of the Twin Cities and married Larry Petersen. Together they were blessed with one son before Larry passed in an automobile accident at a young age. Sherry ultimately settled in Turtle Lake where she resided for over 30 years; she moved to Westfield several years ago to be closer to family. Sherry always had a love for horses and looked forward to her next campfire or ride in her convertible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sherry is survived by her son, Scott (Brenda) Petersen of Westfield and five grandchildren: Oceana (Kyle), Emilee, Austin (Melissa), Allison (fiance, Karl) and Daniel as well as five great-grandchildren: Mikkel, Liam, Olivia, Nathaniel and Rain. She is also survived by siblings: Bernard “Butch” Jeska and Marlene Driscoll, sister-in-law, Cheri Hansen and many extended family members.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Robert Hansen and brother-in-law, Danny Driscoll.

A memorial service for Sherry Hansen will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Brenda Pulver will preside and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Pony Tales Refuge, 4398 130th Avenue, Colfax, WI 54730.
