Sherry Roney

Sherry Lynn Roney, age 75 of Adams (formerly of Oxford) passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse surrounded by family. Sherry was born in Waukesha on March 17, 1951 to Carroll and Nina (Goodhue) Holliday. She was raised in Oxford and attended Oxford Schools and was united in marriage to Glendon Roney at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford on December 28, 1968. Glendon preceded Sherry in death in January of 1977.

Sherry was the community mother of Oxford; she always made everyone feel welcome. She put others needs before her own would help anyone without judgment. Later in life she moved to Adams and made many new friends that became family. To know Sherry was to love her. Her kind thoughtfulness will be greatly missed.

Sherry is survived by two daughters: Sara (Phil Kurlovech) Ryzner of Oxford and Faith (Garret Gould) Kirsenlohr of Adams, two granddaughters: Mara and Makena Kirsenlohr and two bonus grandchildren: Natalie (Alec) and Aiden (Nicole) Gould. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Heyer, extended family members, special friends: Robbie Yost and Lola Feathers and her feline companion, Prissy.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Michael Roney, son-in-law, Raymond Ryzner and brother, Carroll Holliday.

A memorial service for Sherry Roney will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service. Inurnment at the Oxford Village Cemetery will immediately follow the service.
