Stephen Buchanan

Stephen R. Buchanan, age 67 of Montello passed away peacefully at his home, (Tamarack Trails) on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. He was born in Madison on July 13, 1950, the first of 3 children of the Late Loren R. "Buzz" Buchanan and Kathleen J. "Kaye" Buchanan. Steve graduated from DeForest High School in 1968. During his high school years, he developed a love of the outdoors and agriculture. Steve loved to hunt, fish, wander in the woods and fields, and to work the soil and in the woods. He carried this love through his life. Steve spent 34 years of his life working for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection. He was often heard saying, I spent my life in agriculture and agriculture was very good to me. Steve made many great friends during his years working in agriculture. Steve's parents instilled a strong belief in family ties. He always felt strongly that family is forever. In 2001, Steve married the love of his life, Roxanne (Napralla) Buchanan. He spent the rest of his life enjoying traveling with Roxanne and spending time with his own family and the bonus family that came with Roxanne. He developed a great love for his bonus family. Steve is survived by his wife, Roxanne, mother, Kathleen Buchanan of DeForest, his brother, Doug (Nancy), Doug's daughters: Kate and Mary, his sister, Kathy (Jack) McGill, Kathy's son, Johnny (Cassie) McGill. His Bonus family: Stacy (Rick) Stormer, Gary (Tina) Napralla and Michael Napralla. His grandchildren: Miranda (Austin) Carter, Kennedy Napralla, Michaela Stormer, Liam Napralla, Gabi Hopwood, Finley Napralla, and Savannah Napralla. Steve is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Steve is preceded in death by his father, Loren Buchanan, two grandsons that passed in infancy: Theo Stormer and Jacob Stormer as well as several of uncles, aunts, and cousins. Steve and the family would like to thank our many great friends and the staff at the Dean Clinic oncology group for all of their help. At Steve's request, there will be no formal service. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made in Steve's name to the Wisconsin Lions Camp, 3834 County Road A, Rosholt, WI 54473.
