Thomas Schwenn

Thomas "Tom" Gerald Schwenn, age 66 of Montello passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, March 25, 2016 at his home. Tom was born on February 16, 1950 to Gerald and Delores "Sally" (McGaw) Schwenn in California. He graduated from Oregon High School in 1968 and enlisted in the Army. He served two years in Vietnam and one year in Germany. Following his discharge in 1971, he married and had two daughters. Tom worked as a truck driver for Skinner Transfer and later Madison Freight, retiring after 23 years of employment. He married Lisa Norton in Montello on February 11, 2002 and together they have resided near White Lake where he loved to do his yardwork and gardening. Tom was proud of his service to his country and was a member of American Legion Post #351. He could talk to anyone and made friends wherever he went. Tom will be greatly missed. Tom is survived by his wife, Lisa and two daughters: Amber Schwenn of Colorado and Angela Schwenn of Fitchburg and three step-sons: Derek (Jackie) Krentz, Korey (Sarah) Krentz both of Montello and Jason Krentz of Green Bay. He is also survived by two granddaughters: Ashlyn and Alivia and three step-grandchildren: Austin, Emma and Keegan as well as six siblings: Nancy (Jim) Outhouse, Kathy (Greg) Ninneman, Merry (Allen) Bachim, Ben (Sue) Schwenn, Tim (Pat) Schwenn and Tammy Schwenn. Tom is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dan and cousin, Mike. A memorial visitation for Tom will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. At 3:00 p.m. the visitation will conclude with full military honors by American Legion Post #351 of Montello. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Tom's name.
