Wayne Walters

Wayne Edward Walters, age 94 of Oxford passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Montello Care Center.  Wayne was born at home in Packwaukee to Edward and Florence (Yach) Walters on April 22, 1929.  He graduated from Oxford High School and returned to the family farm.  Wayne was a lifelong resident of Oxford.  He was a skilled welder and took great pride in his sheep and cattle.  When he wasn’t farming, he enjoyed bowling and was also a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oxford.  

Wayne is survived by two brothers: Edmund and Ralph (Marilyn) and sister-in-law Jackie Walters all of Oxford.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Jerome “Joe” and Dennis (Rhoda), sister, Joy Ann (Edward) Coon and sister-in-law, Judy Walters.

A memorial service for Wayne Walters will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Larry Sheppard will preside and inurnment will follow the service at the Oxford Village Cemetery.
