Wilma Eggebrecht

Wilma Dorthea Eggebrecht, age 81 of Oxford passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.  Wilma was born in Elgin, IL on July 11, 1941 to William Albert and Emma (Bjorklund) Peterson.  She attended Elgin Schools and married Ronald Eggebrecht on August 24, 1957 in Elgin and together raised their family in Elgin area.  Wilma and Ron enjoyed their cottage in Oxford since 1978, Ron preceded Wilma in death on April 5, 1992.  Wilma made Oxford her permanent home several years ago.

Wilma was a kind, caring and thoughtful person, always there to lend a hand wherever she could.  She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.  Wilma enjoyed baking and sharing those baked goods with everyone.  She also enjoyed music and just recently she could be found making trips to the local VFW to line dance with friends.  Wilma loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with them, she will be greatly missed.

Wilma leaves behind her three children:  Dale (Maria) of Mount Prospect, IL, Denise (Patrick) Livingood of Sugar Land, TX and Karen (Stan) Schrock of South Elgin, IL as well as six grandchildren:  Zachary (Tracy) Schrock, Ashley (Blake) Falls, Brianna Eggebrecht, Emma Eggebrecht, Lexie Livingood and Elijah Livingood.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren:  Abby, Austin, Clayton, Everett and Aubrey and her sister, Dorothy Anderson.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren:  Matthew, Michael, Logan Schrock, brother, Eldon Peterson and brother-in-law, Roger Anderson.

A funeral service for Wilma Eggebrecht will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.  Wilma will be laid to rest at 11:00 AM on Monday at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin, IL.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to: First Presbyterian Church of Oxford, 210 S. Miller Street, Oxford, WI 53952.
