Zelma Cragin

Zelma Elsa Cragin, age 94 of Montello, died early Monday morning, May 14, 2012 at the Montello Care Center. She was born on February 18, 1918 in Mecan Township, Marquette County to August and Emma (Prill) Draeger. On August 22, 1936 she married Bernard Cragin at the St. John's Lutheran Church parsonage in Montello; he preceded her in death on November 23, 1997. Zelma enjoyed painting pictures of nature, crocheting and sewing. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid for a number of years at St. John's Lutheran Church. Zelma is survived by her three daughters: Darlene Berg of Westfield, Christina (Gary) Anderson of Oxford and Deborah (Kenneth) Kozikowski of Watertown as well as her daughter-in-law, Edna Mae Cragin of Montello. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, fifteen step-great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great-grandchildren. Zelma is further survived by one sister, Marion Garthwait of Lake Mills. Zelma is preceded in death were her parents, her husband, Bernard and son, Kalvin 'Casey.' She is also preceded in death by three brothers: Ervin, Lester and Harold and three sisters: Rose, Mildred and Laura as well as three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and two grandsons. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Montello with Pastor Pete Zietlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's Video Tape Ministry.
