Janice Eastlund

Montello

Janice June Eastlund , age 84 of Montello (formerly of Milwaukee) passed away March 2, 2021 at The Montello Care Center.  Janice was born in Spencer on June 20, 1936 to Roy and Lucille (Brandt) Dittman and graduated from Spencer High School in 1954.  She married Glenn Eastlund in Tennessee on April 7, 1958; together they moved multiple times following Glenn’s work in construction before ultimately settling in the Milwaukee area.  Janice and Glenn found and fell in love with their little slice of heaven in Montello along the Fox River. Following Glenn’s passing in 2001, Janice permanently moved to Montello.

Janice worked as a librarian, she was an assistant director and retired from the Elm Grove Public Library after 32 years of faithful employment.  While in Montello, she met her fiancé, Robert Pieczynski (Dr. Bob) and together they have enjoyed many wonderful retirement years together in their beautiful home on the Fox River. She enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, tending to her flowers, living along the river with Robert and spending time with her family.  Janice will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, companion and friend.

Janice is survived by two children: Cindy (Darryl) Hoppe of Montello and Gary (Leanne) of Mukwonago, daughter-in-law, Donna Eastlund of Sussex and six grandchildren: Tracy, Kelly, Eric, Julie, Danielle (Joe) and Michael.  She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, her beloved fiancé, Robert Pieczynski, sister, Gerry (Duwayne) Gropp and other extended family members.

Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn and son, Terry.

A public visitation for Janice Eastlund will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello.  Social distancing and masks are required.  Due to the pandemic, private services will follow the visitation.  Pastor Blaine Niskanen will preside and inurnment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice’s name are preferred to The Budda Box Fight Against Cancer, P.O. Box 91, Westfield, WI 53964.
