Michael “Mike” Edward Coursey, age 78 of Montello (White Lake) passed away peacefully Friday, June 5, 2020 at his home. Mike was born in Chicago on September 5, 1941 to Edward and Mary (Bowler) Coursey. He married Margo Barkey at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Chicago on September 25, 1965 and together they worked and raised their two daughters in the Chicagoland area until permanently moving to White Lake in 1999.
Mike was a talker; he had an unbelievable gift of storytelling and was able to capture everyone’s attention in the room. Mike’s gift of being able to talk to anyone served him well in his long career as a salesperson. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan, enjoyed fishing and bowling but his favorite pastime was golf. Mike loved his family and the memories he made with them will be cherished forever.
Mike leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Margo and two daughters: Kim (Paul) Holesha and Denise Coursey both of South Elgin, IL as well as three grandchildren: Jason, Sean and Samantha. He is also survived by his brother, John (Eileen) of Arlington Heights, IL as well as other extended family members and friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Eileen.
A prayer service for Mike Coursey will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Father Savio Yerasani will lead the service and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s name are preferred to The Budda-Box Fight Against Cancer, P.O. Box 91, Westfield, WI 53964.
