Mildred “Millie” E. Bond, age 97 of Montello passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Joanie’s Home in Montello. Millie was born in Spokane, Washington, the daughter of William and Lena (Schroeder) Rattray on January 26, 1923. Millie married Chalmer “Mike” Bond on November 9, 1943 in Spokane; together they lived in the Roscoe, IL area for several years before moving to Montello in 1973. She and Mike owned and operated B and B Auto Body in Montello as well as Bond’s Auto Corral and Storage, Mike preceded Millie in death on July 21, 1996. Milllie loved her sports, especially the Packers and Brewers. She also enjoyed flowers and birds. Millie was a hard worker and will be remembered for her mild manner and big heart.
Millie is survived by her three sons: Larry (Edna), Terry (Kris) and Randy (Pattie) all of Montello as well as four grandsons: Mike (Lisa), Patrick (Carrie), Gregory and Ross (Jennifer) all of Montello. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren as well as one cousin, Joan Christensen.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Sam and sister, Marjorie.
Mildred Bond will be laid to rest at the Montello City Cemetery with a private graveside service lead by Father Savio Yerasani.
