Rev. Donald Wedel

Donald "Don" Dean Wedel , age 71 of Oxford passed away with his loving wife and family by his side on November 27, 2020 at UW Hospital in Madison. Don was born in Moundridge, Kansas on March 15, 1949 to Walter and Pearline (Buller) Wedel. He graduated from Moundridge High School in 1967 and served his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971. On May 27, 1972, he joined Elizabeth "Beth" Peltier in marriage at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas. In 1977, the Lord called Don to the ministry. He attended Citadel Bible College from 1977 to 1981. He served as a Pastor at churches in Arkansas, Kansas, and Wisconsin. Don and Beth have been at their current church, Oxford Bible Church in Oxford since 1996.

Don enjoyed many hobbies including: golf, watching baseball, singing, playing guitars, woodworking, reading historical and western books, visiting historical sites around the country, riding his motorcycle, going for walks with his wife, and playing with his grandkids. What Don loved most of all was ministering to his church and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Don leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Beth, and their seven daughters: Nicole Broadnax of Westfield, Dawn (Michael) Sever of Oxford, Sarah (Ron) Bernat of Endeavor, Rebekah Wedel of Chicago, Leann (Lucas) Wogernese of Montello, Deann (Derek) Dreger of Lodi, and Gayle (Tyler) Frisque of Saukville along with 13 grandchildren: Ashley, Jordan, Zara, Dylan, Carson, Caitlin, Savannah, Isabella, Adrian, Isaac, Dallas, Henry, and Andrew and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Renly. He is further survived by his sister, Carol (Lloyd) Lindsey and brother, Dale (Brenda) Wedel and many other extended family members.   Don is preceded in death by his parents.

A public visitation for Donald Wedel with proper social distancing (Masks Are Required) will be held at Oxford Bible Church from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020.   Private services lead by his cousin, Terry Wedel will be held on Saturday.  Don will be laid to rest at the Oxford Village Cemetery with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Oxford Bible Church, P.O. Box 26, Oxford, WI 53952 to be used for church ministry and spreading the Gospel.
