Sharon Crook

November 6, 1942 — August 9, 2022

Montello

Sharon Rose Crook , age 79 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Prairie Ridge Health Hospital in Columbus.  Sharon was born on November 6, 1942 to Vivian P. (Rohda) and Robert E. Amrhein.  Sharon and Gene were inseparable through their 63 years of marriage; nothing brought Sharon greater joy than being surrounded by her family.  She was an avid Brewer, Packer and college basketball fan but many will remember her for her unbelievable gift of recalling the Milwaukee Brewers statistics.  She could tell you about each and every player’s life on and off the field.  Her favorite pastime was playing Yahtzee and there were always dice and a Yahtzee pad on the sun porch. Sharon and Gene enjoyed trips to the Casino, up north to Lakewood and yearly vacations with family.  Sharon and Gene hosted annual family reunions for the Amrhein family and friends each summer.  Sharon traveled with Gene during his years in the navy and lived in Connecticut at the beginning of their marriage.  She spent many years babysitting her grandchildren Jamie (Crook) Gross and Andrew Crook as well as other friends of the family.  She worked for a few years at Schumann Printers in Fall River.  Sharon and Gene were always preparing food and loved baking especially during the holidays.  You never went hungry in Sharon’s kitchen.  Sharon always looked forward to visiting with friends and family around the kitchen table. She and Gene were long time members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Montello.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gene and four children: James (Coleen) of Waunakee, Jerome (Glenda) of Columbus, Marilyn Mead of Platteville and John (Darcy) of Fitchburg as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by siblings: Robert Amrhein, Gary Amrhein, Judy (Al) Rollins, Kathy (Rick) Gincer, Terry Hall, Bette (Dave) Milhans and Debbie Lokker.  Sharon is further survived by sister-in-law, Darlene Amrhein as well as many other extended family members.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Nancy (Marley) Stebbins, James (Clare) Amrhein, Norma (Richard) Perry, Kenneth Amrhein, Richard Amrhein and Ronald Amrhein and nieces, Tammy (Amrhein) Spath and Jodi (Amrhein) Arndt.
