Endeavor

William “Sonny” Raymond Barron Sr., age 85 of Endeavor passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home.  Sonny was born at home in Montello on December 21, 1935 to William H. and Amanda (Street) Barron.  He graduated from Montello High School as a member of the 1952 graduating class.  Sonny married Patricia “Pat” Aurand at her parent’s home outside of Montello on June 18, 1955 and together they have been blessed with 65 years of marriage and three children.

Sonny farmed for himself in rural Montello and later went to work for Dairyland Poultry in Endeavor.  He considered himself a life-long farmer, working for Gumz Farms for the past 38 years.  Sonny enjoyed bowling, golf, softball and deer hunting and took great pride in passing on that tradition to the rest of his family.  He looked forward to going out for breakfast and Friday night fish fries.  Sonny will be remembered for his strong work ethic and the love he had for his family.

Sonny leaves behind his wife, Pat and three children: William (Carol) Jr. of Reedsburg, Cheryl (Gary) Stevens of Endeavor and Rosalie (Duane Atkinson) Barron of Montello as well as 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by siblings: Darwin (Reva), Allen, Lillian Bagley, Mandy Lou (Charles) Zietlow, Trudy Anderson and Charlotte (Mike) Warran as well as many other extended family members.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Ronald, Larry Sr. and Emiline Cairns and great-grandson, Parker Braatz.
