Thomas Violetto

Thomas “Tom” Patrick Violetto , age 74 of Montello passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019.  Tom was born in Chicago, IL on March 17, 1945 to Joseph and Virginia (Demas) Violetto.  He lived in Chicago as a child and later moved with his family to Westfield where he attended Westfield High School.  He married Bonnie Gray at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello on June 19, 1971 and together they resided in Montello where they raised their two sons.

Tom was a union millwright and custom home builder until retirement.  He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, car shows, working in his shop and cutting wood.  Tom truly looked forward to visiting with his friends and “shooting the bull.”

Tom is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Bonnie and two sons: Joseph (Kristina Dolgner) and her children: Heidi and Andrew “Buddy” all of Montello and Telly (Tamara) and their children: Isabella and Liam all of Bradenton, Florida.  He is also survived his mother-in-law, Donna Gray, sister, Karol as well as many extended family members and friends.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Russell Gray, brother-in-law, Robb Gray and sister-in-law, Sue Gray.

A Celebration of Thomas Violetto’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Crawford Funeral Home in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Julie Krahn will officiate and private family inurnment will take place at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Tom’s name.

The family would like to thank the Montello Fire Department, Marquette County EMS and University Hospital-Neuroscience ICU especially nurse Julie for their tremendous care of Tom.
