Waunita Gardner

August 7, 1924 — April 4, 2019

Waunita Violet Gardner, age 94 of Montello/Boscobel passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Tivoli in Portage.  Waunita was born at home in Patch Grove Township, Grant County, WI on August 7, 1924 to Robert and Florence (Webster) Cullen.  She married Kenneth Seim and together they were blessed with three children and the two later divorced.  Waunita later became a licensed real estate broker and appraiser and worked for many years in those fields.  She married Gerald “Ole” Gardner in 1988 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa and together they enjoyed many wonderful years together until his passing in February of 1995.

Waunita was a lifetime and very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boscobel serving as: Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher, Bible School Teacher, Luther League Organizer and taught confirmation.  She loved spending time with her family and those memories will be cherished forever.  Waunita was a life-long member of the Order of Eastern Star, a very talented seamstress and loved to dance.

Waunita is survived by two daughters:  Sharon (Laverne) Turner of Menomonee Falls and Nancy Fitchie of Montello and one grandson, Richard Olson of Montello and great-granddaughter, Emily Olson.  She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Kratchoville as well as several nieces, nephews and Ole’s children.

Waunita is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ole, son, Kenneth “Bucky” Seim and sisters: Ruth, Irene, Gladys, Ella, Etta and Kasey.

Waunita will be laid to rest at the Boscobel Cemetery with a private family ceremony.

The family would like to thank both Tivoli and Agrace Hospice for all the love and care they gave Mom.
