William Jungenberg

August 7, 1934 — November 18, 2020

William “Bill” Hollis Jungenberg , age 86 of Grand Marsh passed away with his loving wife and family by his side on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at his home.  Bill was born at home in Oxford on August 7, 1934 to William J. and Mildred (Smith) Jungenberg.  He graduated from Oxford High School in 1952 and served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1954 until 1956.  On May 4, 1957 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Monroe at the Baptist Church in Plainfield.  Together they resided in West Allis for many years, where Bill worked as a machinist by trade. They retired back to the area in 1998 and have been members of the Oxford Bible Church ever since.

Bill had a love for the outdoors, especially ice fishing and with his mechanical abilities, he created a better way to wind up his tip-ups.  Bill’s tip-up winder is still sold today by Beaver Dam tip-ups with his initials on it.

Bill leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Carolyn, daughter, Catherine (Michael) Lange of West Allis, grandchildren: Joshua (Rochelle Cannestra) Buck, Adam Buck, Justin (Tracey) Buck, Aaron (Aimee) Buck and Austin Buck along with 10 great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Prestyn, Asher, Sawyer, Paige, Ezra, Bailey, Natalie, Ava and Arya.  He is further survived by his sister, Iris (Paul) Hoffman, brother, Ken (Gail) Jungenberg as well as sister-in-law, Evelyn Jungenberg and brother-in-law David Olson along with many, many other extended family members.

Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Earl, sister, Marilyn Olson and infant brother, Harvey.

A public visitation with proper social distancing for William Jungenberg will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford.  Following the public visitation, private services will be held.  Bill will be laid to rest at the Oxford Village Cemetery with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Bill’s name for the Fisher House located at the Milwaukee VA hospital.

A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice, especially Amy, Megan and Laurie for your truly thoughtful care.
